Keep track of the coronavirus pandemic.

Homemade face masks may not be able to block out every particle, and are not guaranteed to keep you from acquiring the coronavirus, but they can help in some circumstances (more below). The severe shortage of N95 masks, which help protect medical professionals like doctors and nurses from acquiring the coronavirus, has meant that ordinary citizens needed an alternative to help slow the spread. (Earlier this week, the FDA approved a sterilization process for N95 masks to help cope with the shortage.)

Social distancing on walks and in stores, and that thorough hand-washing is still the most advocated medical advice for healthy people to avoid acquiring the virus.

Homemade masks come in a variety of patterns and styles, so you’ll want to know the different options available to you — and some hospitals recommend certain designs over others. Face mask vs. face covering: What’s the difference?

The CDC stresses the use of “face coverings” in its recommendation, not necessarily “face masks.” So what’s the difference? A face covering can be any cloth that covers the nose and mouth, including a scarf or bandana wrapped around the face.

A face mask refers to a more specific shape that usually involves material that’s more fitted to the nose, agen sbobet (https://www.wishbet88.biz) mouth and skull, as through the use of ear straps.

It’s possible that “face covering” is used to differentiate coverings from surgical and N95 respirator masks that are so critically low in hospitals in New York and the rest of the country.

Here’s what the CDC says: “Cloth face coverings fashioned from household items or made at home from common materials at low cost can be used as an additional, voluntary public health measure.”

How homemade face masks can help

Homemade face mask patterns were available judi online before the coronavirus pandemic began. Most of them are intended to block out large particles such as dust; air pollution from cars, factories or ash; and allergens such as pollen.

Might help protect others from your sneezes and coughs if you acquired the virus but are otherwise asymptomatic and in public.

Could encourage more mindful behavior, including avoiding touching one’s mouth, nose and eyes.

CR4ZY, Quincy Crew remain unbeaten at BTS: Americas

CR4ZY and Quincy Crew remained on a collision course of unbeatens, while beastcoast had to forfeit its match on an eventful Sunday at the Dota 2 BTS Pro Series: Americas event.

On a day that featured all four teams with winning records, CR4ZY got the day started with 38- and 52-minute wins over Evil Geniuses. Quincy Crew then followed with 31- and 43-minute wins over Thunder Predator. Evil Geniuses fell to 4-3 and daftar sbobet Thunder Predator is now 3-3.

Because of this, they are at home with their family and not at the team house. This has caused some unfortunate internet issues. While we all wish we could compete as the beastcoast you know and love, our circumstances do not allow us to do so. As a result, we are forfeiting today’s match.

“Thank you for your understanding and support and patience in this time. We’ll see you soon.”

That gave business associates the 2-0 victory. There was no word yet whether beastcoast will be able to compete Monday.

The online event features eight teams competing for a $50,000 prize pool, with $21,000 going to the tournament winner. All matches in the round-robin group stage are best-of-three.

Emirates NBD Q1 profit dives 24% as coronavirus-led impairments surge

By Davide Barbuscia

DUBAI, April 20 (Reuters) – Dubai’s largest lender Emirates NBD said on Monday its first-quarter net profit declined 24% on-year due to higher provisions the bank took in anticipation of the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on credit conditions.

The bank posted a net profit of 2.08 billion dirhams ($566 million) in the quarter, down from 2.74 billion dirhams in the same period a year earlier. On a quarterly basis, however, the lender’s net profit improved by 3%.

“Net operating profit declined 24% y-o-y as the group took additional impairment allowances to increase coverage in anticipation of a deterioration in credit quality in subsequent quarters,” Patrick Sullivan, the group chief financial officer, said in a statement.

Banks in the United Arab Emirates are feeling the impact of tough containment measures aimed at tackling the pandemic, which also brought parts of the economy to a near halt.

The Dubai emirate – which doesn’t have the oil wealth of its neighbour Abu Dhabi – is particularly vulnerable because of an economy heavily reliant on tourism, transport and Judi Bola, 36.255.140.182, trade.

Earlier this month, Moody’s changed its outlook on the UAE banking system to “negative” from “stable”, citing expectations of weakening loan quality and profitability as the outbreak hits the economy.

“The new challenges add to headwinds lenders were already facing amid a subdued economy. UAE banks, however, hold strong capital and ample liquidity, which will help buffer the impact,” the ratings agency said.

Emirates NBD increased impairment allowances to 2.6 billion dirhams, with an increase in the annualised net cost of risk of 210 basis points.

Its non-performing loan ratio was stable at 5.5% in the quarter, and total assets increased by 1% from the end of 2019 to 692 billion dirhams.

“Regional banks face multiple challenges from low interest rates, low oil prices and lower economic growth due to disruption from COVID-19,” said Sullivan.

The operating performance of the bank was good prior to the emergence of the economic impact of COVID-19, he said.

Profits of the corporate and institutional banking business of the Dubai lender decreased 55% on-year in the first quarter on account of lower loan recoveries and higher impairment allowances.

The bank said that given the uncertainty of the economic environment, the adequacy of impairment allowances will be re-assessed regularly during the year.

“Emirates NBD has a good underlying operating performance, coupled with a robust balance sheet to help navigate these challenges. The group continues to operate with strong liquidity and healthy capital ratios,” Sullivan said.

Djokovic could face opposition to plans to help lower-ranked players

Novak Djokovic and his fellow superstars could face opposition to their proposals to help bail out lower-ranked players during the enforced lockdown.

The world No 1 has sent a letter, endorsed by Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, to fellow top-100 players asking them to donate to those ranked between 250 and 700.

While sympathy with the broad sentiment will be widespread, getting universal agreement might not be easy.

Novak Djokovic has asked top-100 ranked players to support those ranked between 250-700

His letter to his competitors has been endorsed by both Roger Federer as well as Rafael Nadal

One source with knowledge of several top 100 players’ thinking questioned how well the idea would be received.

Djokovic has proposed that the top five contribute $30,000 (£24,000) each, going down to $5,000 (£4,000) for those ranked 50-100. He suggested that if the ATP Finals in London take place, half the prize money should go into a relief fund. The idea is for low-ranked men to receive $10,000 (£8,000) each.

Among the questions likely to be asked are: What if a player would prefer to donate to a health charity? What if they are already helping out their own staff with no money coming in?

An elephant in the room is the sheer wealth of the top three, for whom the laudable gesture is small change.

Leading commentator and former British No 1 Mark Petchey tweeted: ‘You don’t need to be an economist to work out the percentages are flawed. The whole concept is very noble but the guy who was 700 last year in the rankings made $9,000 in prize money. To get a cheque for Judi Online $10,000 is like Christmas.

Are you going to give (ex-top 20 players, now low ranked) Jack Sock and Chung Hyeon $10,000?’

John Millman raised the question why it has taken a pandemic to help players ranked 250-700

World No 43 John Millman got to the heart of the matter when he said on social media: situs judi bola terbaik ‘If the concern is to help players ranked 250-700 in the world why has it taken a global pandemic to realise this? Surely over the many years of top-end-heavy prize money increases we should have distributed the spread a little more.’

Meanwhile, ideas for live streamed exhibition events without spectators are already springing up to fill the tennis void.

Nadal has been in contact with the ATP Tour exploring the idea of top pros going to train at his academy in Mallorca and then playing matches behind closed doors.

Nadal has recently been exploring the idea of top pros going to train at his academy

High-profile coach Patrick Mouratoglou has a similar scheme for his academy in Nice, with a scheduled start date of May 16.

Prior to that, there are plans for unofficial matches in Germany between players ranked outside the top 100.

The Tennis Integrity Unit will be keeping a close eye on all events, having already issued an alert that match-fixers will be on the lookout for opportunities.

During a report about tips on how to go about hair styling while quarantined at home, a figure could be seen in the shower.

The silhouette is believed to be that of Meza’s husband, Mike de Lambert.

The pair have been married since 2004.

Twitter users were quick to react to the sudden glimpse.

‘Omg please let that not be her husband,’ wrote one Twitter user.

‘Damn why she wanna work when she’s got all that at home?’ joked another.

Another user was more worried about the segment being viewed by her husband.

‘Hope her husband doesn’t see this!’

Another person said that they believed the figure in the shower was in fact a reflection of the husband who was attempting to keep out of sight, not realizing he could still be seen.

Asian shares fall back on weak oil prices, Japan trade data

BANGKOK (AP) – Shares trended lower in Asia on Monday as oil prices fell back and Japan´s trade data for March was weaker than expected.

Benchmarks rose in Shanghai but fell in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Sydney.

A fresh crop of grim economic data is expected this week after a worldwide rally on Friday that pushed the S&P 500 up 2.7%.

Japan reported Monday that its exports fell nearly 12% in March from a year earlier as shipments slipped to its two biggest markets, the U.S. and China.

A decline in China’s benchmark lending rate, which mostly affects big, state-owned companies, helped support Shanghai’s Composite index. The People’s Bank of China paved the way for the monetary easing last week by reducing by 0.2% a rate called the medium term lending facility, which forms the basis for the loan prime rate. The cuts reduce short-term borrowing costs for banks.

China’s central bank has used various targeted moves to ease the crunch from the pandemic, which resulted in a 6.8% contraction in the economy in the last quarter. “As employment conditions remain weak and external demand is being held back by lockdowns elsewhere in the world, we think the People´s Bank will take further steps to prop up activity,” economists at Capital Economics said in a commentary.

The Hang Seng index in Hong Kong lost 0.1% to 24,354.79, while the Shanghai Composite index added 0.4% to 2,850.78. The Sensex, in India, was flat at 31,601.78.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 index gave up 1.2% to 19,669.12, while the S&P/ASX 200 declined 2.5% to 5,353.00. Shares also fell in Taiwan, Singapore and Jakarta but rose in Bangkok.

Australian resource companies were pulled lower by the weakness in oil prices. Benchmark U.S. crude for June delivery lost $1.20 to $23.83 per barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It lost 50 cents to $25.03 per barrel on Friday. Brent crude, the international standard for pricing, gave up 52 cents to $27.56 per barrel.

But the future for May delivery sank to its lowest level in two decades, dipping briefly to $14.45 per barrel.

“Basically, bears are out for blood,” Naeem Aslam of Avatrade said in a report. “The steep fall in the price is because of the lack of sufficient demand and lack of storage place given the fact that the production cut has failed to address the supply glut.”

Friday’s rally on Wall Street was driven by wisps of optimism over reports on early progress in a possible treatment for the coronavirus and moves by President Donald Trump to nudge states toward reopening businesses and other activities shut down to help stem the spread of the pandemic, which has killed more than 165,000 people and infected at least 2.4 million worldwide, 760,000 of them in the U.S.

The S&P 500 added 75 points to 2,874.56, agen sbobet while the Dow Jones Industrials average advanced 3% to 24,242.49. The Nasdaq composite index gained 1.4% to 8,650.14.

By early Monday, the futures for the S&P 500 and the Dow industrials had fallen 0.5%.

Treasury yields remained extremely low. The yield on the 10-year Treasury edged lower, to 0.63% from 0.64%. It started the year near 1.90%. Bond yields drop when their prices rise, and investors tend to buy Treasurys when they´re worried about the economy.

The market´s gains were widespread Friday, across all 11 sectors that comprise the S&P 500, which has climbed more than 27% since hitting a low on March 23.

The most recent gains have been powered by hopes that the pandemic may be leveling off in some of the world´s hardest-hit areas. The rally started after the U.S. government and Federal Reserve promised massive aid for the economy.

But the S&P 500 is still down roughly 16% from the record set in February as numbers roll in and show the cataclysmic damage being done to the economy. Roughly 22 million U.S. workers have lost their jobs in the last month as businesses shut down. Banks are bracing for consumers and businesses to default on billions of dollars in loans, and no one can say for sure when the economy will get back to anything approximating “normal.”

The dollar fetched 107.86 Japanese yen, up from 107.54 yen on Friday. The euro weakened to $1.0854 from $1.0875.

India reports biggest one-day virus spike as lockdown eased

NEW DELHI (AP) – India recorded its biggest single-day spike in coronavirus cases on Monday as the government eased one of the world’s strictest lockdowns to allow some manufacturing and agricultural activity to resume.

An additional 1,553 cases were reported over 24 hours, raising the national total past 17,000. At least 543 people have died from COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the virus, and epidemiologists forecast the peak may not be reached before June.

The shelter-in-place orders imposed in India on March 24 halted all but essential services, sparking an exodus of migrant workers and people who survive on daily wages out of India’s cities and toward villages in rural areas. Authorities picked up travelers in a fleet of buses and quarantined many of them in empty schools and other public buildings for 14 days.

Starting Monday, limited industry and farming were allowed to resume where employers could meet social distancing and hygiene norms, and migrant workers were allowed to travel within states to factories, farms and other work sites.

“In the event a group of migrants wish to return to their places of work within the state where they are presently located, they would be screened and those who are asymptomatic would be transported to their respective places of work,” India´s home ministry said in a letter to state governments.

However, government surveys in the central Indian state of Maharashtra, the worst-hit by the virus, have suggested few companies eligible to restart operations can do so because they are required to transport and shelter workers as a virus-prevention measure.

While a partial lifting of a curfew permitted the restart of coal plants and oil refineries, animal feed and agro-industry, and other labor-intensive manufacturing such as brick kilns, much of the country remained under lockdown.

India’s airspace was closed to commercial traffic, its passenger rail system, buses and metros were halted, e-commerce was restricted to food and other essentials, and schools, stadiums and houses of worship remained closed until May 3.

India is also continuing to ramp up testing, build up stocks of ventilators and personal protective equipment and prepare makeshift isolation wards and dedicated COVID-19 hospitals.

In Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra and home to Asia’s largest slum, city authorities were planning to administer hydroxycloroquine to thousands of slum-dwellers over 14 days to gauge whether the drug helped to slow the spread of the disease in a place where social distancing norms aren’t possible to achieve. It was unclear how many people would participate in the experiment, or when it would begin.

President Donald Trump has touted the malaria drug to treat COVID-19, though its efficacy against the disease is unproven.

New Testament Gospel of John Chapter Summaries

id=”mod_11149968″>

Looking for a quick summary of the events in each chapter of the Gospel of John? If so, you have come to the right place.

(note: for ease of use quotes from scripture are bold).

Chapter 1

The book of John starts with the words “In the beginning” the same as Genesis. In the first versus of John, Jesus is referred to as “the Word”, John says that Jesus was with God and that Jesus was God. He says that all things were created through Jesus. John continues on to tell us of John the Baptist, and how he came to show us the way to Jesus. Also in the early parts of this chapter, we get a promise. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name…” Continuing on in the chapter, we are told that Jesus came into the flesh. We are again told that John was sent to pave the way for Jesus.  We are told that John sees the spirit of God descending on Jesus like a dove. Later, Jesus passes by and two of Johns’ disciples go and instead follow Jesus. The chapter ends with Jesus collecting quite a few early disciples.

Chapter 2

Jesus performs his first miracle of the book in this chapter. Having been invited to a wedding in which they had run out of wine, and having been encouraged by his mother. Jesus miraculously changes water in to high quality wine.  Later on in the chapter Jesus goes to Jerusalem for Passover. When he enters the temple and sees the people buying and selling inside. He makes a whip and clears their businesses form the temple. Seeing this, the disciples remember a verse from the Old Testament “Zeal For Your House Will Consume Me.” The Jews in the temple then ask for a sign of Jesus’ authority to do this. He responds by telling them that he can rebuild the temple in three days. It is revealed that the disciples remembered this after his death and resurrection and this was part of why they believed.

Chapter 3

In chapter 3 Jesus meets a Pharisee by the name of Nicodemus. Jesus tells Nicodemus that one must be born again in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Nicodemus does not understand. Jesus explains by saying that one must be born of water and the Holy Spirit in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.  Still no understanding, Nicodemus has Jesus explain further. Jesus continues by telling the Pharisee that the Messiah must be lifted up just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert.  Jesus tells of God’s immense love for mankind and tells that he sent his only son as a sacrifice so that men might be saved from their sins.  Jesus explains to Nicodemus that anyone who believes in the Son of God is not condemned.

Chapter 4

Chapter 4 tells the story of Jesus meeting a Samaritan woman at a well. He tells her of wells of living water that Jesus will give upon asking. Jesus also reveals to the woman that she does not have a husband and that she has been divorced five times. She is amazed that he accurately tells her the history of her life. She goes back in to the town and tells them about Jesus. They are amazed and many believe because of her. He stays for two days and many more believe because of what he said. Later on, Jesus is approached by an official who asks him to heal his son. Jesus does so.

Chapter 5

Jesus performs yet another great miracle in chapter 5. He sees a paralyzed man lying on the ground waiting to get into a healing pool. Jesus tells this man to pick up his mat and walk. This exasperates the Pharisees as it is the Sabbath.  Jesus responds to them by saying that his father is working on the Sabbath and therefore he will work on the Sabbath.  This is given as a reason that the Jews try to kill him. Because not only is he working on the Sabbath, he is also claiming to be one with the father.  After this, Jesus goes into a long speech that I truly do not understand. I think he is talking about himself like a legal case. Calling witnesses to the fact that he is the son of God, but he seems to be saying that he does not trust human witnesses and that one who is greater than human serves as his witness. But then he goes back and calls John a witness. I really do not understand exactly what he is saying, but I’m pretty sure it is like a legal defense of his claim to be the Messiah.

Chapter 6

Chapter six gives us the famous story of Jesus feeding the five thousand. With nothing more than five loaves of bread and two fish Jesus somehow manages to feed five thousand people.  It is an incredible miracle.  Jesus continues to amaze in this chapter by walking on water.  Later, when the crowd that he had fed followed him to the other shore, Jesus calls them out saying that they are only following because he fed them. He then goes on to tell them that he is the bread of life and that the one that comes to him will not be hungry or thirsty. He also says that anyone who eats this bread of life will have eternal life and that the life of this world is his flesh.  Jesus continues to teach his disciples. He tells them that these words do not benefit the flesh but instead the spirit, he also tells them that no one can come to him unless the God the Father has given it to them.

Chapter 7

In chapter seven, Jesus’ brothers try to convince him to go publicly to the feast in Jerusalem.  He tells them that it is not yet his time. After they leave, Jesus goes up to Jerusalem in private for the feast.  Later, he goes to the temple and begins to teach. The people are amazed by his teaching because he had received no training.  He then tells the people that he is going to a place where they cannot go, and they are puzzled by this. Later on some of the Jews were thinking that he is the Messiah and some were thinking that he was not. Some of them wanted to kill him.

Chapter 8

This is one of the most vivid scenes in the Bible to me. In this chapter the Pharisees bring Jesus a woman who was caught in the act of adultery. They ask Jesus if they ought to stone her according to the Law of Moses. Jesus says “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” One by one everyone leaves the room, convicted of their own sin. Jesus tells the women that he will not convict her either and to go and not sin. Jesus goes on to preach to them that he is the light of the world. The Jews say that he is testifying about himself and that therefore the testimony cannot be believed. But Jesus says that the testimony of two men is true and that He and his father both testify on his behalf. Then Jesus gets in a long debate with the Pharisees, he tells them that they are of their father the Devil and that he is of his father God. Finally, the biggest claim of the chapter comes when Jesus says “Truly , truly, I say to you before Abraham was born, I am.” This was a big deal, as essentially Jesus was claiming to be God.

Chapter 9

Chapter nine begins with healing a blind man. This creates some controversy in the local synagogue, as the Pharisees cannot agree on whether Jesus is from God or not. They say that the signs could only be performed by one from God, but since he did it on the Sabbath he must not be from God. They spend much time questioning the man who was healed before reaching the decision that Jesus must not be from God because he healed on the Sabbath. They then throw the healed man out of the Synagogue. Jesus hears about this and comes to talk to the man he healed. He asks him if he believes in the Son of Man and when the man says he would if he knew who it was. Jesus tells them that He is the Son of Man.  So Jesus again claims to be divine.

Chapter 10

In chapter ten, Jesus gives us a parable. He tells about the door into a sheep pen. He says that anyone who doesn’t go through the door is a thief. He then says that he is the door and he says that he is the good shepherd who lays down his life for his sheep.  Then he talks about having other sheep, and how he will unite them with his current flock as one flock. The people either think that he is crazy or brilliant. The Pharisees then surround him in the temple and ask him to tell them if he is the Christ. He tells them that he already told them. Then he again claims to be equal with God. This incites the Pharisees to attempt to stone him. They try and kill him but he gets away.

Chapter 11

Jesus friend Lazarus dies in this chapter. Jesus hears that he is sick, but instead of rushing there he takes his time, saying that the sickness will not end in death but the glory of the lord. Later, Jesus goes to the home of Lazarus and they tell him that he is dead. He goes to the tomb and tells Lazarus to come out. And he does! Seeing that Jesus is performing lots of miracles, the Pharisees hold a meeting and try and decide what to do. They are afraid that everyone n Israel will get behind him and cause the Romans to come in and defeat them. To they begin to form a plan to kill Jesus.

Chapter 12

Chapter twelve begins with Mary’s anointing of Jesus. She breaks open an expensive jar of perfume, pours it over him and wipes his feet with her hair. Judas asks if that perfume should have been sold to raise money for the poor. Jesus, knowing that Judas’ intent was to steal. Said that the poor they would always have, but he would not be around much longer. The chapter continues with Jesus’ triumphant and glorified entry into Jerusalem. People gathered in the streets and laid palm fronds on the ground on which the donkey he rode walked. The cheered and yelled “save us!” Some Greeks look for him, he talks to them and tells them that he who loses his life will gain it. Than Jesus says that his “soul is troubled” and the crowd hears a voice from heaven like thunder or an angel, but it is the voice of God speaking to Jesus.  Jesus than in essence says that he is going to die and then he tells them to listen to him again.

Chapter 13

This is the chapter in which Jesus washes the feet of the disciples.  He tells them that he is setting an example that they should follow. He says that if he the teacher is doing it, than they should also do it. Later in the chapter, Jesus predicts that Judas will betray him. Interestingly, Judas still betrays him. It says that Satan entered Judas. Did Judas have a choice as to whether he would betray Jesus or not? Also in this chapter Jesus predicts that Peter will deny him.

Chapter 14

Jesus then basically tells the disciples that everything is going to be ok. But I don’t think that they understand. Thomas tells Jesus that they do not know where he is going. Jesus again says that he is the Messiah.  He tells them that if they ask anything in his name they will receive it. He then tells them about the Holy Spirit, he tells them that the Spirit will come to them and help them.  He says that the Holy Spirit will help them to remember everything that he said, and that the spirit will always be with them.

Chapter 15

He then goes on to use the analogy of a vine and branches. He says that he is the vine and that his disciples are branches. He says that if someone wants to bear fruit, like the fruit of the spirit, he will abide in Jesus. Just as a branch that produces fruit abides in the vine.  He goes on to tell the disciples that they must love each other just like he loves them. Then he tells them that the world might hate them but that that will be ok. Because the world hated him first and so they should not be surprised. He says that this is done to fulfill scripture “They hated me without a cause.”

Chapter 16

Jesus also tells them that they will be kicked out of the synagogue and that people will try and kill them.  Then Jesus again tells them about the Holy Spirit. He calls him the Helper. He than once again predicts his death and situs sbobet predicts that he will be raised from the dead. He then tells them that he told them this stuff so that they will be at peace. He says that even though they struggle in the world, they will have peace in him.

Chapter 17

Jesus prays a prayer before his death. He asks that God would glorify him and glorify himself through him.  Then he prays for the disciples, asking God to give them Jesus’ joy. He asks that God would keep them from Satan and not only his twelve disciples, but everyone who believe in him through what his twelve disciples say. He also says that he has given the disciples glory and that they will one day be one in the same way that Jesus and God are one.  He then asks that they may be in the same place as him so that they can see the glory that God has given Jesus.

Chapter 18

This is the chapter in which Judas betrays Jesus.  Judas comes with a group of men carrying weapons. Jesus asks who they are looking for and they tell him they are looking for him. Jesus says that he is here. Peter takes out his sword and cuts one of their ears off. Jesus tells him to put it away and heals the man’s ear. Jesus goes with them. They take Jesus before the priests to be tried and he questions him. Jesus answers by saying question those I spoke too.  It is at this time that Peter denies he knows Jesus. They then take Jesus before Pilate. Pilate see’s no fault in him and offers to release him. But the crowd insists that he release Barabbas.

Chapter 19

So they take Jesus and beat him and make him wear a crown of thorns. They mock him by calling him the King of the Jews and continue to hit him and beat him. Then the priests begin to yell “crucify him!” And they convince Pilate to crucify him because Jesus claimed to be their king. They make him carry his own cross to a hill where they do crucifixions and they write a sign that says “Jesus the Nazarene, The King of the Jews”. He was crucified between to others. The soldiers took his clothes and divided them up. Jesus dies on the cross. To make sure that he was dead, one of the soldiers stabs his side with a spear, blood and water come out and this means that he is dead. Then one of the disciples, Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus come and prepare his body for burial and then they bury him.

Chapter 20

Mary Magdalene comes early to the tomb on the first day of the week and discovers that it is empty! She runs to tell Peter and “the disciple Jesus loved” which is John.  They run to the tomb to see for themselves and they don’t know what to think because they do not understand that he is supposed to rise from the dead. Then Mary, who is standing outside the tomb, sees two angels who ask why she is crying. Then she turns around and see’s Jesus. She doesn’t recognize him at first. But then he speaks to her and she recognizes it is him. Then Jesus appears to many of his disciples who are meeting together in a shut up room. He shows them his hands and his side so that they may see that it is him. Thomas was not with them and did not believe them. But later Jesus appears to them again, this time Thomas is there and Jesus allows him to put his fingers into the imprints of the nails and to put his hand inside the hole in his side. Then Jesus says “Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.”

Chapter 21

In this chapter, Peter and some of the other disciples go fishing. They don’t catch anything all night. But then Jesus appears on the shore and tells them to try fishing on the other side. They don’t recognize him but they try it anyway and their nets become so full that they aren’t able to bring them in because of all the fish. Then they realize it is Jesus. Peter is so excited he jumps in the water and swims to shore. John brings the boat back.  Then they eat together. Jesus tells Peter to shepherd his sheep and John writes “And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written.”

I Love the gospel of John. I am studying this book in my prayer time with the Lord right now. I have read it before, but going through it again, I am receiving so much more deeper revelation. My soul is eating it up! This book is so peaceful to me and Jesus’s words are so comforting, I know it is the Holy Spirit comforting me and revealing and reconfirming the Lord’s Words to me. This is His Word to me and for me. We have to start seeing and knowing that this is a personal letter, a personal relationship, a personal journey for us. Me, Me, Me. The Lord told me, in reading His word to get to know him, that I should not rush, just take my time and just soak in Him. To Ed, relax, Matt is just sharing his revelation and personal experience of what he has received from reading this book. I write down and journal my experiences with the Lord and think deeply and my thoughts and heart express back to Jesus what I get from His word. Jesus taught and questioned people on what their take was of Him. But, who do you say that I am? Matt is not rewriting the Bible as many try to do with over 60 bible versions out there and I knowing many are changed by Satan himself. I stick to the KJV because this version does not take out the blood, Christ’s deity, Heaven, Hell, what the Lord says about “Homosexuality”. Matt notes BOLD is scripture, so we reading know the un-bolded word is his personal testimony and revelation on what he was spiritual fed. Good job. Love, sis in Christ.

Hello Matt and many blessings. Interesting summaries of good work but please be aware that from John 15:1 to John 16:15 this forty two verses are the Temptation of the Apostles by the deceiver Satan taking or adding to the Word of God.
